General Description This position is a working manager of Loan Assistants who work independently in various locations. In addition to leading and supervising, this position is expected to be an expert and able to implement improvements to increase efficiency and decrease errors. The Manager, Loan Assistants is responsible for the ordering of accurate and timely preparation of loan documents on commercial, residential, and consumer loans, so that they meet the conditions of the loan approvals and all pertinent regulatory requirements. The position is also responsible for various other loan administration duties.

  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents, write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Provide prompt appropriate assistance to managers with respect to regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
  • Takes assigned project from original concept through final implementation.
  • Maintains project schedules, estimating time requirements, establishing deadlines, monitoring milestone completion and tracking all phases of the project product.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Provide prompt appropriate assistance to managers with respect to regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Ability to balance business opportunities with regulatory and reputation risk.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be self directed, diplomatic and a clear, courteous and professional when working with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • 10 years of financial experience, training, and compliance in several departments of financial institutions including; lending, compliance, risk management, legal or audit, processing.
  • Experience in dealing with the public and management.
  • Experience filing and scanning documents.
  • Strong leadership potential, project management and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ordering and ensure the accuracy of the necessary documentation for preparation of closing documents.
  • Prepare written instruction to have the closing documents drawn up, in accordance with the approval and or the appropriate lending regulations as well as all bank policy regulations.
  • Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
  • Compose letter and other correspondence with no instruction.
  • Prepare forms necessary to order appraisals.
  • Assist loan officers and clearing exceptions.
  • Scanning loan files into AccuLoan.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, retention, performance, management, coaching, and development of Loan Assistant personnel.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Direct supervision of Loan Assistants.
  • Responsible for workflow management, performance monitoring, coaching, and training.
  • Assist in hiring recommendations, performance evaluations, and staff development planning.
