In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. What you will be doing Responsibilities: Leaves of Absence: Serve as subject matter expert for time and pay processes related to both continuous and intermittent leaves, assessing current practices, and partnering with internal teams, as needed Guide, educate, and advise managers and employees on leave of absence policies and processes, ensuring they are provided and directed to the appropriate resources Ensure accurate time entry and pay for employees on leave of absence, coordinating with external payers, as needed Ensure both HSS payroll and state benefit payments are processed correctly and payments are made to employees accurately and timely Oversee and implement ‘Donated Sick Time’ practices for eligible employees Act as the primary point-of-contact with the outsourced Leave Management administrator, ensuring their process is compliant and efficient and that leaves are processed and communicated in a timely manner Oversee third-party Leave Administrator performance, periodically auditing volume, employee statistics, and practices to assess and ensure quality Proactively identify and troubleshoot leave issues or concerns, and recommend and implement solutions Ensure all systems (i.e., Third-Party Administrator’s, HR Acuity, Workday, Dimensions) are equipped to accurately transfer data between one another; act as primary conduit for Leave-related technology and systems Proactively identify and troubleshoot leave issues or concerns, and recommend and implement solutions Inform third-party administrator and internal staff of HSS policy or practice changes, ensuring leaves are managed in accordance with the most current requirements Compile and analyze leave metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement Remain abreast of current and changing leave-related laws Reasonable Accommodations: Oversee the HSS Reasonable Accommodation process, responding to accommodation inquiries in a timely manner Lead the interactive and cooperative dialog process for reasonable accommodation requests with managers and employees, advising stakeholders of policies and practices that influence decisions Communicate accommodation determination to employees, managers, Occupational Health, and other relevant parties Record and maintain all accommodation cases in HR Acuity Seek to resolve and/or escalate complex or risky leave or accommodation-related issues to ER and Legal partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leave of absence administration
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing and supervising staff
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA) and leave administration guidelines (DBL, STD, PFL, LTD)
  • Observant of medical and personal information privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Highly proficient working in HR Systems – experience with Workday (HRIS) and Kronos (Timekeeping) a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Customer-service oriented, projecting a positive attitude and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Collaborative, with proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex information in a simple and understandable way
  • Effectively manages time to handle multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail and follow-through
  • Active listener; ability to interpret to both verbal and nonverbal communications
