The Manager, Leadership Annual Giving is responsible for building and managing a pipeline of leadership-level donors, engaging individuals to secure gifts in the $1,000-$49,999 range. This role serves as a crucial bridge between the broad-base annual giving program and the major gifts pipeline. The ideal candidate will have experience building high-touch, long-term relationships and demonstrated success soliciting and securing support. The Manager focuses on proactively identifying, qualifying, and cultivating donors who show potential for increased leadership support, transitioning them from direct response channels into a managed portfolio. This position partners closely with the Director, Leadership Annual Giving on overall strategy to create a strong donor pipeline and achieve fundraising goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three (3) - five (5) years of progressive experience in fundraising, with demonstrated success in personal solicitation or direct donor relations.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with a fundraising CRM (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact effectively with donors and internal colleagues.
  • A strong, donor-centric mindset with a professional and prompt approach to all inquiries and needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented spirit and an eagerness to contribute to shared organizational goals.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Fundraising experience in a healthcare or higher education setting.
  • Specific experience in pipeline development, prospect management, or leadership annual giving.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes an inspiring giving program for individuals who make leadership annual gifts (gifts $1,000-$49,999).
  • Establishes, builds, enhances and sustains long-term relationships with donors and prospects.
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and build a portfolio of leadership annual giving prospects, with a primary focus on donors emerging from direct response channels (mail, email, digital).
  • Systematically review donor data, giving history, and patient reports to uncover individuals with higher capacity and inclination.
  • Actively manage a dynamic pipeline of prospects, with a focus on rapid qualification and portfolio turnover. The primary goal is to move prospects through the discovery phase by executing targeted outreach (virtual/in-person meetings, calls, personalized emails) to either secure a leadership annual gift or successfully transition high-capacity individuals to a leadership gift officer or major gift officer's portfolio within a 12-18 month cycle.
  • Develop and execute a systematic strategy for timely, personalized outreach to high-potential donors and patients identified through direct response appeals.
  • Act as the key liaison between the direct response team and the leadership annual giving team to ensure a seamless donor transition.
  • Drafts and executes engagement communications tailored to leadership annual giving donors, including a welcome email series, stewardship communications personalized donor updates throughout the year.
  • Maintains appropriate donor records and documents, including proposals, reports, agreements and other pertinent documents.
  • Creates and maintains reporting that tracks key performance metrics such as number of gifts received, donor upgrades, qualification outcomes, number of calls, number of emails made, donor visits completed and movement through the leadership annual giving and major gifts pipeline. Use these metrics to inform strategy, measure progress and guide continuous improvement of the program.
  • Participates in Annual Giving and Leadership Annual Giving team meetings and strategy sessions.
  • Other duties, as may be assigned.
