Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology.
  • Licensure/ Certification: MT (ASCP) registry
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years acute care generalist experience with two (2) years management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The Laboratory Manager assists the Director to plan, direct, implement and improve services provided by the Laboratory in keeping with the mission of the hospital.
  • Coordinates Laboratory functions with medical direction from the Medical Director.
  • Assumes responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement and equipment maintenance.
  • Works with the Director to ensure the availability of competent staff to conduct the services of the department.
  • Provides for the ongoing education of staff and promotes teamwork concepts within staff.
  • Responds to physicians and other health care providers in a professional manner.
  • Age specific training and competency assessments are required.
