About The Position

This is a full time 40 hour a week position Responsibilities Under the direction of the Director, the manager oversees departmental operations of the Laboratory. Performs administrative duties including oversight and compliance of point of care testing and affiliated offsite areas. Monitors operations to ensure safe, efficient and quality performance standards for employees, patients and visitors. Collaboration with nursing, administrative, medical and other staff to coordinate patient care activities will be necessary to support the facilities mission statement, achieve customer satisfaction, and identify system problems as opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
  • 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is Required
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required
  • Management of Clinical Laboratory only:Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
  • Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology):Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree of Business Administration or Health Administration is Preferred
