The position involves management and oversight of all activities related to the laboratory quality and accreditation programs at UVA Medical Laboratories. This includes performance improvement, regulatory compliance, safety, and educational activities. The role leads quality improvement initiatives to support laboratory activities and ensures compliance with various regulatory bodies such as CAP, FDA, TJC, CMS, FACT, and NACCLS. The individual will plan, direct, and evaluate a comprehensive quality assessment and performance improvement program, ensuring effective communication and education regarding quality outcomes and regulatory issues to laboratory managers and team members. Additionally, the position requires providing expertise and training in process and quality improvement methodologies, facilitating multidisciplinary workgroups, and preparing quality assurance reports for inter-departmental initiatives.
