As a Manager, Laboratory Operations , your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience; OR Masters' degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD and 0+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must think critically and creatively, determine appropriate resources for resolution of problems, and have strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in laboratory operations
  • Experience in cross-site collaboration and project management.
  • Experience working with Upstream and Downstream equipment (e.g. SU Bioreactor, Akta, TFF) and associated data collection & retrieval is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Lead readiness for inspections, audits, and internal walkthroughs
  • Coordinate with Facilities, EHS, IT, and other departments as needed to resolve operational issues quickly
  • Create and manage SPARC tickets to support lab and equipment moves, facility issues, and routine lab requests.
  • Manage inventory and procurement processes to maintain adequate supplies and resources for laboratory activities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment including bioreactors, cell counters, metabolite analyzers, solution mixers, chromatography skids, pump systems and endotoxin analyzers.
  • Collaborate with scientific lab leads to develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Support onboarding of equipment
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement lean, 5S, or digital solutions to improve lab efficiency
  • Participate in meetings and projects to share knowledge, resources, and best practices.
