About The Position

The Jesuit Institute serves as an intellectual center that encourages dialogue and engagement regarding the intersection of faith and culture, promoting research and collaboration in these emerging issues. As the department's sole staff member, the Manager directs the Institute's day-to-day operations and functions. This role provides high-level support to the Director regarding strategic planning and the fiscal management of multiple budgets. The Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing multiple conferences and events. In addition, this position oversees the hosting and coordination of three interdisciplinary faculty seminars. The manager also supervises the Visiting Scholars Program for five international scholars who each come for a one semester term. This includes handling complex logistics—such as international visas, housing, and travel—and facilitating the scholars' integration into the university community. On a daily basis the manager is also required to provide support and hospitality to two or three visiting scholars who are there every semester.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Excel, Adobe AEM )
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet any sudden demands.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
