About The Position

The Manager, IT PMO leader serves as the IT strategic and tactical interface with the business for IT solution discovery, requirements gathering, business analysis development projects, and deployment/project delivery. This role participates in IT strategy development and provides trusted guidance throughout the business and within IT. The person in this role serves as an advocate on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure IT services meet their business priorities and needs. The individual serving in this role must be a strong listener and possess the ability to communicate clearly, build strong relationships, negotiate, mitigate conflict, and achieve desired results using solid interpersonal, tact, and persuasive skills. He/she works closely with others on intangible issues across organizational and business-entity boundaries. Their knowledge of technology, IT and business risks, and opportunities are shared to improve the effectiveness and growth of the Verst enterprise. Additionally, this person may lead project teams and/or direct project managers through the process of managing and delivering business initiatives from inception through completion.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of functional experience a business-facing IT organization with demonstrated experience in partnering with business stakeholders ad IT Leadership
  • 3+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects
  • Working knowledge of at least one common project management/delivery methodology (E.g., PMI/PMP, Agile, SAFE Agile, Scrum, PRiSM)
  • Ability to listen, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic partner within the business and IT
  • Ability to map joint company vision and long-term thinking, creativity, and idea generation
  • Motivated, self-directed, and energetic
  • Ability to be assertive, yet tactful, diplomatic, and flexible
  • Ability to know when to assert an agenda and when to let a situation develop, rest, or advance on its own
  • Highly developed communication and relationship skills
  • Business acumen in all functional areas. Ability and comfort with working at executive levels

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a member of the Information Technology Leadership Team.
  • Provide a consistent approach and collaborate with other members of IT management, such that decisions are made in line with both the IT and business strategies and objectives.
  • Participate in the development, communication, management, and maintenance of IT policies and procedures within the IT organization.
  • Participate in the development of the IT Strategic Plan and for managing the Application Portfolio, aligning with business strategy and objectives.
  • Maintain an industry awareness of information technology, IT best practices, and related technology trends, particularly as it relates to the 3PL industry.
  • Identify innovation opportunities and working with the business leaders, plan how to leverage that technology or practice to the benefit of Verst.
  • Monitor regulatory guidelines and emerging industry standards to ascertain their impacts on the enterprise-wide systems and business processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for business application design, development, deployment, and support
  • Maintain all internal IT systems in a timely and accurate manner such as Project Management, Tasks Management and Time Management systems
  • Manage all applications-related projects in alignment with the business strategy and priorities.
  • Oversee project risks that might impact their schedule, costs, resources, scope, or value to the business.
  • Participate in the IT Governance process that determines project prioritization and resource planning.
  • Prepare material and content in advance of the IT Governance sessions.
  • Guide and coach business leaders, enabling them to articulate their function’s needs in terms of technology, resource requirements, business impact, etc.
  • Partner with IT and the business to develop and maintain multi-year capability roadmaps.
  • Stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value is captured, understood, optimized, and recognized.
  • Partner with business teams to ensure effective business transformation, successful change management, and the management of expectations for all initiatives.
  • Partner with the Application Development and IT Services teams, to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio.
  • Partner with business leadership to plan new initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine the technology impact and how that aligns with business goals, roadmaps, and priorities.
  • Identify and integrate technology into Verst’s long-range plans of business growth and development.
  • Strategically focus on business value when conceiving ideas and developing solutions, to include digital awareness, risks, business continuity, financial impacts, and resource capabilities.
  • Correlate business value and priorities to planning initiatives and setting goals.
  • Ensure that IT Management is knowledgeable about the business partnerships, their objectives, their priorities, and their capabilities.
  • Lead project teams in the successful implementation of business initiatives and manage efforts through the IT Governance process ensuring the project team passes successfully through all gates, stages and/or phases effectively.
  • Participate in the evaluation of project efforts and progress against the company’s and IT’s strategic plans and objectives.
  • Establish and develop business partner relationship maturity, for the benefit and value-add of the business and core-competency of the IT enterprise.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the industry, its best practices, competing forces, opportunities, and the evolving nature of the industry.
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of evolving and relevant technologies, along with their effectiveness, maturity levels, inherent risks, and applicability to the Verst enterprise strategic goals.
  • Scope, develop, and document functional and technical requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and lead Business Analysts.
  • Measure and communicate business value realized on a periodic basis.
