Summary of w hat you’ll do: The IT Manager is instrumental in lead ing our Student Information System (SIS) D evelopment T eam s . You’ll use our core values to guide decisions and behaviors in order to elevate our culture within your team and across the organization. This includes defining quality, efficiency, and development best practices. In addition to having strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships with other departments is important in your role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience , preferably in IT .
  • Experience mentoring and developing others and /or leading a significant change within a team .
  • Excellent critical thinking , problem- solving and judgment skills combined with trustworthiness .
  • Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others .
  • Forward-thinking approach to AI utilization within the SDLC and day-to-day activities.
  • Ability to communicate and interact eff e ctively with direct reports, clients, colleagues, and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Competency in resolving diverse and complex business/technical problems.
  • Ability to motivate others to perform their best and advance their skills through instilling purpose , vision and optimism .
  • Drive to deliver effective solutions/outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Coach es , motivat es and professionally develop s team members , helping to set and model desired quality techniques .
  • B uilds strong relationships with IT, Product , and Operations leaders to seek feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Translates technical detail into business relevant language.
  • Set s clear objectives and measures , align ed with organizational goals , to evaluat e the performance of team members and to utilize in compensation recommendations .
  • Promotes teamwork and cooperation within and across teams .
  • Implements lean solutions to improve team efficiency while maintaining effectiveness .
  • Assesses and improves team health .
  • Creat es a culture that makes room for failure , learning , and continuous improvement .
  • Lea ds the hiring process for team members.
  • Contribut es to strategic planning decisions such as budget and staffing plans .
  • Responsible for product or initiative delivery, including quality, efficiency and work timeliness .
  • Effectively communicat es initiatives/product statuses, working with Product Owner s and Team to address stakeholder issues/concerns.
  • Assist s Agile teams in implementing designs for large-scale software projects.
  • Participat es in discussions/design of where are systems are today , where we want to take them in the future , and how we can best get there.
