Strategic Planning & Financial Management Partner in the development of strategic plans to deliver financial results for categories Sponsor and lead cross‑functional projects to meet strategic financial plans Approve inventory budgets and goals Align category goals to divisional goals Influence and collaborate with senior leadership to ensure sales, in‑stock, inventory, and profitability metrics are achieved Evaluate and justify tradeoffs between club in‑stock and inventory investment Oversee execution of financial and operational plans Analyze trends in financial performance and external market factors to align resources to address future challenges Integrate results of team analytics (e.g., inventory analysis) to influence cross‑functional team decisions Model future inventory plans against supply chain capability Participate in the development of strategic plans to deliver financial plans for categories Sponsor and lead cross‑functional projects to meet strategic financial plans Approve inventory budgets and goals Align category goals to divisional goals Influence and collaborate with senior leadership (e.g., Merchandising, Suppliers, Logistics) Ensure sales, in‑stock, inventory, and profitability metrics are achieved Evaluate and justify tradeoffs between club in‑stock and inventory investment Oversee execution of financial and operational plans Analyze trends in financial performance and external market factors Integrate team analytics to influence cross‑functional decisions Model future inventory plans against supply chain capability Supply Chain Execution & Optimization Direct and optimize supply chain execution for multiple category groups Lead strategic cross‑functional projects to optimize supply chain effectiveness Lead supply chain channel decisions (e.g., import, distribution center, cross-dock, direct to club) Set financial expectations and drive supply chain savings Oversee inventory management across multiple supply chain channels and club formats Review and authorize non‑standard movement and arrival of merchandise (e.g., brand launches, seasonal inventory flow) Provide leadership during disruptions (e.g., natural disasters, manufacturing, transportation issues) Develop and calibrate category‑ and category‑group‑level order strategies for optimized inventory management Supplier & Stakeholder Management Align, develop, and direct resources to achieve category objectives and financial results Manage relationships with key strategic import and domestic suppliers related to supply chain management Establish and communicate team goals and objectives to internal and external partners (e.g., Planning, suppliers) Respond to escalated issues related to order placement and validation Communicate financial and operational performance to senior and executive management Drive educational programs for internal and external business partners Develop presentation content and present at supplier summits and divisional conferences Business Execution & Continuous Improvement Drive execution of multiple business plans and projects Identify customer and operational needs Develop and communicate business plans and priorities Remove barriers and obstacles impacting performance Provide resources and define performance standards Measure progress and adjust performance as needed Develop contingency plans and demonstrate adaptability Support continuous learning Evaluate ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives Consult with business partners, managers, coworkers, and key stakeholders Solicit, evaluate, and apply suggestions to improve efficiency and cost‑effectiveness Participate in and support community outreach events At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet. The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
