The position involves developing and managing activities for hospital language services for patients, families, and visitors of Northside Hospital. Responsibilities include the selection, training, and assignment of interpreters and translators, as well as educating staff regarding compliance with laws protecting individuals needing interpretation and the ethics of the interpreter-patient-provider triad. The role also requires working with management staff to identify interpretation and translation needs, developing and evaluating hospital policies and procedures, and utilizing data findings to determine staffing and resource needs. Additionally, the position involves onboarding and educating new facilities on language and communication needs, maintaining compliance with laws and standards, and staying updated on industry developments.
