About The Position

The Manager, International Accounting will oversee a team that supports EOG's current international operations as well as any new ventures. The position is located in Houston, TX, with the key responsibilities below: Oversee a team of approximately 10 employees and contractors, with oversight of: Accounting for revenue, volumes, expenses, capital expenditures and intercompany transactions Vendor onboarding and accounts payable Contract reviews for proper accounting Monthly forecasting and budgeting Staff development and mentoring Work closely with management and commercial teams to provide support on accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis for current operations as well as potential transactions. Work closely with local, in-country accounting teams to ensure accuracy of financial data, forecasts, and analyses passed to corporate. Coordinate with the Corporate Financial Reporting team to ensure accuracy of financial data and variance analyses. Manage monthly management financial statement preparation, analyzing variances from forecast, and reporting significant issues. Prepare ad-hoc presentations to the executive management team. Oversee compliance with accounting policies and procedures and internal controls. Coordinate communications with internal and external auditors. Requirements

  • Bachelor's in accounting degree
  • 8+ years of international oil and gas accounting experience
  • 5+ years supervisory/managerial experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply US GAAP/IFRS and understanding of statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience in accounting in multiple currencies
  • Detail oriented; with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Self-motivated with strong management, analytical and coordination skills, including multi-location coordination skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing and heavily active organization
  • Strong communications skills
  • Willingness to travel to international offices
  • Strong Excel skills required
