Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon Accounting is seeking a Principal Specialist to join the International Accounting team. This role will provide a broad range of accounting support for our international subsidiaries (branches and landed companies) in various countries throughout the world. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a strong fundamental understanding and global perspective of our international business operations from a CONUS-based position. This role encompasses working with large amounts of data and interacting with a broad range of cultures around the globe.

Requirements

  • This role typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or related field and 8+ years of experience or 5+ years of experience with a related advanced degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with public company accounting / financial reporting matters through either public accounting, internal audit, or industry experience.
  • Experience interpreting and preparing internal and external financial statements, including preparation of detailed schedules.
  • Systems Knowledge - Microsoft Office and SAP with proficiency in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF statements, etc.).
  • Familiarity with US GAAP Accounting, IFRS and/or International Taxation.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize workload.
  • High attention to detail and ability to stay organized.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and supports the timely completion of statutory audits (e.g., responding to inquiries, gathering, and interpreting data, etc.) by liaising with external auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Works directly with tax advisors to drive completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting and filing.
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis, data integrity checks, and validations of financial records and transactional data related to financial statements, footnote disclosures and tax returns.
  • Manages the preparation of monthly accounting journal entries, accruals, and amortizations for our international subsidiaries.
  • Reviews and posts payments (e.g., invoices, tax payments, etc.) using proper costing techniques.
  • Leads and develops direct reports within the team
