We’re seeking a strategic expert to guide the development and execution of Integrity Management Plans across both Distribution and Transmission systems—ensuring full alignment with Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) regulations and advancing our commitment to operational excellence.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a college/university accredited by ABET.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license; if the PE license is from a jurisdiction other than New Mexico, the candidate must obtain their NM PE license through NM State Board of Engineering Licensure within six months of notice of employment at New Mexico Gas Company.
  • 5 years of related experience in project management, engineering and/or natural gas operations with progressively more complex assignments
  • 2 years of experience of supervisory/project leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and is accountable for the development, maintenance, and implementation of the statewide NMGC Distribution Integrity Management Plan (DIMP).
  • Leads and is accountable for the development, maintenance, and implementation of the statewide NMGC Transmission Integrity Management Plan (TIMP).
  • Manages the Engineering Services Integrity Management team and ensures resources are available to team and succession and developmental plans are current and appropriate.
  • Chairs committees that oversee Integrity Management projects and initiatives.
  • Ensures all analysis, evaluation, risk assessment and remedial requirements are conducted as required by federal and state rules and the company’s DIMP and TIMP.
  • Acts as primary company liaison with PHMSA and PSB; facilitates audits and is the NMGC representative during official visits regarding pipeline integrity issues. Drafts formal response to pipeline integrity audits.
  • Assists in preparing budget, analyzing costs/benefits; continuously evaluates cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Coordinates organization and maintenance of all pipeline integrity related documentation.
  • Provides support to Director, Engineering Services and Regional operations as necessary.
  • Signs, dates and seals/stamps plans, specifications, drawings or reports prepared by the licensee or persons under their personal supervision that have reviewed the plans, specifications, drawings or reports and have made tests, calculations or changes in the work as necessary to determine that the work has been completed in a proper and professional manner. The professionally licensed engineer ensures the subject drawing has been reviewed and meets code and safety requirements as required by NM regulations.
