James River Insurance is seeking a Manager for IT Infrastructure to oversee the Infrastructure function, ensuring maximum issue resolution in minimum time while adhering to quality standards and budgets. The role involves managing a team, executing IT infrastructure operations, and ensuring compliance with customer SLAs. The Manager will also be responsible for implementing cloud technology solutions, monitoring data backups, and developing reporting metrics for system upgrades and patch management.   • Execute on all aspects of IT infrastructure including operation, maintenance, and repair of mission-critical equipment and systems
  • Oversee and participate in complex infrastructure implementation, system upgrades, and operational troubleshooting
  • Ensure IT infrastructure, systems, and services are working correctly, reliably, and securely
  • Serve as level-3 escalation point for operations team and assist with problem resolution and root cause analysis
  • Plan for life and refresh cycles of infrastructure solutions
  • Monitor Data Backups and ensure they run and complete on time
  • Implement cloud technology-based solutions to increase agility and efficiency
  • Review current environment to detect deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Develop effective reporting metrics for inventory and system upgrades
  • Lead a team of Systems Engineers and ensure standards and expectations are achieved
  • Ensure project and department milestones and goals are met
  • Interview, select, and train new employees
  • Guide team members with project issues
  • Track employee performance and provide regular feedback
  • Collaborate with other IT functions on implementations, strategy, and standards
  • Document and publish infrastructure architecture principles and standards
  • Provide routine capacity reporting on storage, networking, server, and backup equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of five years of IT Infrastructure experience required
  • Minimum of two years of people management experience required
  • Expert proficiency in VMware, Windows Server, SAN (NetApp), and Switch Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of IT Controls and SOX Compliance
  • Ability to convey technical process information clearly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with cloud technology solutions
  • Experience in a 24x7 data center operation
  • Familiarity with capacity reporting on IT infrastructure
