About The Position

The Manager, Inflight Base Ops position is responsible for leading a growing team of Inflight Supervisory, Base Specialists, and Flight Attendant team members to deliver industry-leading safety, operational reliability, and financial performance. This role involves ensuring the welfare of Spirit team members and guests, anticipating their needs, and developing a culture of engagement and partnership. The manager will oversee team performance, manage recruitment and training, and provide strategic guidance on team member relations and conflict resolution. The position also requires establishing productive relationships with various operational and non-operational counterparts and ensuring compliance with Spirit and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aviation Management.
  • 3-5 years' experience in leadership.
  • Two (2)+ years' experience as a Flight Attendant preferred.
  • Ability to maintain current Spirit Airlines Flight Attendant Certification.
  • Intermediate understanding of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Understanding of a Flight Attendant's role and daily job duties.
  • Advanced understanding of Company policies/procedures and Inflight Performance Management Policy.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to utilize technology to create, edit and maintain necessary information.
  • Domestic & International travel approximately 25% of time.
  • Must be present at the Worksite 100% of the time.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a growing team of Inflight Supervisory, Base Specialists, and Flight Attendant team members.
  • Ensure the welfare of Spirit team members and guests as an ongoing safety practice.
  • Anticipate the needs of Spirit team members and guests by exceeding attentiveness expectations.
  • Develop and lead an exceptional group of Team Members by fostering commitment, trust, and support.
  • Ensure that operational goals and metrics are met or exceeded through strategic planning and initiative execution.
  • Manage and motivate Inflight Base Leadership teams for superior operational performance.
  • Oversee team member's performance in accordance with Spirit Airline's values and culture.
  • Manage team member recruitment, training, performance, coaching, development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide strategic guidance on team member relations and conflict resolution.
  • Develop mentoring program for Inflight Supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with Spirit and regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Indirectly responsible for staffing levels, pay-to-block performance, and scheduling.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with operational and non-operational counterparts.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
