This role blends clinical expertise with operational leadership to drive infection prevention initiatives, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and strengthen frontline practices through education, consultation, and performance improvement. Key responsibilities include surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections, investigation of infection clusters, and microbiological monitoring and remediation of the healthcare environment. With a deep understanding of nursing and patient care environments, the manager guides infection prevention specialists in identifying trends, mitigating risks, and shaping strategies that advance safety, quality, and 5 STAR performance across the organization.
