About The Position

The Manager in Training (MIT) program is a leadership development role designed to prepare high potential candidates for future operational management positions within Trinity. The program offers hands on exposure to on site and regional operations, financial performance, and team leadership while working closely with experienced property management professionals. The goal of the program is to prepare the MIT for a permanent management role within approximately 12 months, based on performance and business needs. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership potential, curiosity about operations, and a desire to grow within multifamily property management.

  • Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Occasional travel for company events or meetings.
  • Active participation in team functions and regional or company activities is expected.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service or leadership experience preferred.
  • Multifamily experience is a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws and property management fundamentals preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi, Entrata, Celeri, EliseAI and/ or Asana is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate between multiple assets within a market or portfolio to gain broad operational exposure.
  • Serve as “Manager on Duty,” providing leadership support to on-site and regional teams.
  • Participate in property tours, site visits, and asset evaluations.
  • Learn and support new acquisition and disposition processes, including asset preparation and due diligence checklists.
  • Gain exposure to lease-up communities and capital improvement business plans.
  • Develop conflict resolution and critical decision-making skills when addressing operational and resident concerns.
  • Understand all on-site property roles and functions, with the ability to train, coach, and mentor team members.
  • Attend weekly pricing calls and assist with market analysis and competitive comparisons.
  • Support annual budget preparation and monitor ongoing financial performance against budget goals.
  • Maintain operational awareness of property performance, acquisition proformas, and key metrics.
  • Execute property strategies in collaboration with leadership to optimize net operating income (NOI).
  • Track, analyze, and report on key operational data points using industry tools and best practices.
  • Show, lease, and assist with move-ins for prospective residents.
  • Maintain resident files ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinate move-in schedules and confirm apartments meet Trinity’s move-in readiness standards.
  • Assist with clerical and phone support as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to resolve resident concerns professionally and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Attend monthly marketing meetings and provide strategic operational updates.
  • Gain exposure to hiring processes, including candidate interviews, following completion of training.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership to support execution of each asset’s business plan.
  • Take on special projects and initiatives aligned with leadership development.
