About The Position

The HSE Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing organizational environmental and company safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role includes ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environment, health, and safety regulations. The HSE Manager will facilitate, manage, and track all required safety training programs and oversee the company's safety auditing programs. Additionally, the manager will inspect organizational facilities to detect existing or potential hazards and develop or provide input to hazardous material communications.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Safety Management or an equivalent program.
  • Minimum five years' experience working with industrial safety compliance in a management position.
  • Strong understanding of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Familiar with NIOSH lifting equation and experience applying it to repetitive motion processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate skills in financial budgeting and accounting.
  • Ability to interface at multiple levels and operate within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety RIA 15.06 2012/ ANSI B11.19.
  • Trained as a trainer to teach others for compliance training.
  • Trained in auditing production areas for compliance with all standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and implements organizational environmental and company safety programs.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environment, health, and safety regulations.
  • Facilitates, manages, and tracks all required safety training programs.
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
  • Facilitates and manages safety auditing programs and safety evaluation of new or modified equipment.
  • Oversees the company fork lift/ industrial truck safety program.
  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential hazards.
  • Develops or provides input to hazardous material communications.
  • Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
  • Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries.
  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Interfaces and indirectly reports to Regional HSE management.
  • Maintains OSHA 300 and 300 A logs.
  • Oversees the company First Responder program.
  • Develops and implements a program and system to track and evaluate worker injuries.
  • Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations.
  • Maintains workers' compensation files and records.
  • Monitors the company's health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Supports departmental 6S activities.
  • Performs additional duties as requested by Management.
