The Manager, Human Resources, is responsible for the execution of core HR operations within a growing professional services firm. This role is intentionally scoped toward operational ownership and day-to-day administration, reflecting the firm’s current stage and near-term growth plans. This individual will partner closely with leadership, Finance, Recruiting, and other People functions to ensure HR fundamentals—employee lifecycle operations, benefits, payroll coordination, compliance, systems, and immigration—are executed accurately, consistently, and on time. While the initial scope is execution-heavy, this role offers room to expand into more strategic areas over time as the firm grows and infrastructure matures. This is an ideal role for an experienced HR professional who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves today and interested in growing their scope in the future. $110,000 - $160,000 a year

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within professional services or high-growth environments
  • Demonstrated experience with HR administration, benefits, payroll coordination, and compliance
  • Comfort operating in a lean environment with evolving structure
  • High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive matters
  • Practical, clear communicator who works effectively with leadership, Finance, Recruiting, and People partners
  • Comfortable operating without extensive infrastructure; able to move initiatives/projects forward amid ambiguity

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification preferred (PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience supporting employment-based immigration processes preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute HR operational processes across the employee lifecycle, from offer acceptance through separation
  • Partner with Recruiting to support employment agreements and pre-employment requirements
  • Manage I-9 compliance, background checks, and employment eligibility verification
  • Coordinate systems access provisioning and deprovisioning with IT and leadership
  • Execute termination and offboarding processes, including documentation, final pay coordination, and benefits transitions
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in compliance with federal and state requirements
  • Execute HR compliance processes and support policy implementation
  • Support the development, maintenance, and application of HR policies and procedures
  • Serve as a day-to-day resource for employee relations matters, escalating complex issues as appropriate
  • Support accommodation requests (ADA, medical, religious) in a compliant and consistent manner
  • Monitor changes in employment law and support implementation of required updates
  • Partner with external employment counsel as needed
  • Execute benefits administration including enrollments, changes, renewals, and employee communications
  • Partner closely with Finance and Payroll to ensure accurate deductions, payroll feeds, and reconciliations
  • Administer employee leave programs (FMLA, state and local paid leave, disability, firm-sponsored leaves)
  • Serve as primary point of contact for employees regarding employer-sponsored benefits
  • Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS and support reporting and audits
  • Support payroll administration processes and compliance across jurisdictions
  • Maintain HR compliance calendars, filings, and documentation for a multi-state workforce
  • Execute routine HR administration with consistency and precision
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency while maintaining compliance
  • Coordinate employment-based immigration processes (e.g., H-1B) in partnership with immigration counsel
  • Track visa status, renewal timelines, and compliance requirements
  • Serve as an internal point of contact for immigration-related questions
