The Manager of Hub Resource Planning at United Airlines is responsible for overseeing a significant labor budget and implementing effective resource planning strategies for airport operations at O'Hare International Airport.   • Manage a $300M+ labor budget for airport operations at O'Hare International Airport.
  • Implement resource planning best practices and strategies for airport operations.
  • Collaborate with senior station leaders to optimize workforce resources while adhering to labor contract constraints.
  • Deliver final workforce targets for each flight schedule based on various operational factors.
  • Develop detailed analytics and tools to enhance resource planning outcomes.
  • Ensure operational effectiveness through short-term labor delivery and overall personnel budget management.
  • Plan for long-term headcount needs, including hiring and attrition rates.
  • Create and maintain shift and vacation bids to reduce service defects and control costs.
  • Analyze labor contracts and potential changes in service standards and flight schedules.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or a related field involving quantitative analysis.
  • 3-5 years of team leadership experience required.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a complex workforce planning operation.
  • Continuous improvement experience is required.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical ability and demonstrated team leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for the airline industry and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (Inform, StaffPlan).
  • Proficiency with complex data sets.
  • Experience with simulation software.
  • Data visualization skills.
