About the position

The Human Resources Manager at Aloha Petroleum, a subsidiary of Sunoco, L.P., plays a crucial role in supporting management on employee relations and recruitment matters. This position is focused on fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring effective human resources practices within the organization. The role requires a strong understanding of employment laws and policies, as well as the ability to handle various HR functions in a generalist capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a key player with management in creating a high-performance culture of excellence with employees across the organization.
  • Administers, oversees, and/or supports the business in various human resources areas in a generalist capacity.
  • Acts as an internal advisor to management by analyzing and recommending solutions to employee relations issues.
  • Conducts internal investigations on employment issues, including complaints involving discrimination or harassment, and recommends appropriate action at the conclusion of the investigation.
  • Coordinates and/or conducts new hire orientations and exit interviews.
  • Executes full cycle recruitment in support of field and corporate hiring needs.
  • Provides world-class customer service to hiring management and the talent community.
  • Serves as a talent acquisition company ambassador to internal and external customers.
  • Sources candidates and builds talent pipelines via the applicant tracking system and other passive methodologies.
  • Thoroughly screens and assesses candidate applications for qualifications.
  • Presents offers of employment and successfully fills all assigned positions with top talent in a high-volume talent acquisition environment.
  • Analyzes, interprets, and administers various labor contracts.
  • Prepares for and participates in contract negotiations.
  • Attends and presents at various company meetings (management, administration, etc.).
  • Participates in group projects, such as wellness events, benefit open enrollment presentations, and other employee presentations.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field (e.g. Business Administration or Psychology).
  • 8+ years of experience in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employee relations matters and investigations.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws such as FMLA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent work ethic, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and function independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to partner and collaborate with Human Resources functional experts.
