About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Manager of Housing and Residence Life is the primary point of contact for residents and provides responsive and direct support in both residence halls - including up to 220 residents.This is a 12-month live-in position with flexible working hours based on the needs of the residence hall community. Compensation would include the following in addition to a base annual salary: a two-bedroom, partially furnished on-campus apartment. This position requires a collaborative leader who will guide all facets of our residence life programming and promote overall standards that foster the development, learning, sense of belonging, retention, and success of our students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field
  • Knowledge of College policies and procedures
  • Two or more years of residence life management experience
  • Knowledge of student development theory and best practices
  • Experience within a community college residential setting
  • Experience in a leadership position in a college residence hall setting
  • Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist prospective and current residents with roommate matching and roommate education
  • Provide mediation and support to roommates in conflict and oversee room change process
  • Promotes the wellness of all residents through responsive and direct student support
  • Closely supports and monitors "residents of concern" through frequent outreach and follow up
  • Connects students in crisis to appropriate resources
  • Direct hiring, training/onboarding, supervision, and evaluation of all residence Life student staff members (5 -10) throughout the fall and spring semesters
  • Develops and implements 2-week student staff training in the fall semester and 1-weekstudent staff training in the spring
  • Develops, manages, and leads weekly student staff meetings
  • Engages in regularly schedule 1:1 supervision with student staff members
  • Develops and manages online student staff tools and resources
  • Direct hiring, training/onboarding, supervision, and evaluation of all summer conference camp attendants (approx. 5) per summer semester
  • Develops and implements 1- week summer conference staff training at the launch of each summer conference season
  • Responds to, investigates, and coordinates with facilities man management team to resolve facilities issues in a timely manner
  • Plans and executes end of semester transition and resident departure for the annual holiday closure
  • Plans and executes resident move-in and move-out events
  • Responsible for room key and access card management
  • Works closely with Facilities Rental Coordinator and Occupancy Specialist in the coordination and execution of a large-scale Summer Conference season (May -August)
  • Summer Conference Operational Management of room function, key distribution to camps, work orders, coordination with Facilities management regarding room cleaning between camps
  • May serve as department purchasing liaison as needed
  • Management and content creator of department social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Leads student staff in the planning and implementation of resident extracurricular events and regularly scheduled programming
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Residence Life, responsible for executing programming and outreach in alignment with the Residence Life Retention Plan
  • Responsible for the ongoing management and implementation of the "Low Credit" Early Alert process, ensuring residents are continually retained into a full-time credit load.
  • On-Call Crisis Response
  • Participates in professional on-call rotation approximately 6 weeks a semester, specifically during nights and weekends, responding, but not limited to: Suicide risk Mental Health incidents Student death Sexual Assault/Harassment Resident Alcohol Intoxication Medical Emergencies Facilities Emergencies General Student Staff support as needed
  • Works closely with Campus Safety and Conduct/Community Standard to ensure students at risk are assessed and referred to crisis stabilization and mental health resources.
