Job Overview The Manager, Housekeeping ensures that the store is cleaned every day to maintain a welcoming environment for customers. Additionally, this position may involve distributing store supplies, maintaining wrapstand cleanliness, and performing other necessary duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain cleanliness and tidiness in various areas of the store, including fitting rooms, restrooms, and sales floors
  • Customer Service Skills: Demonstrates courteous and professional behavior when interacting with customers and colleagues
  • Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently, including cleaning schedules, waste management, and staff supervision
  • Leadership Abilities: Ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver exceptional service and maintain high cleanliness standards. Ability to recruit, train, and develop a team of housekeeping colleagues to achieve productivity and efficiency goals
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with both management and staff to convey objectives, expectations, and feedback
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle various tasks and responsibilities as assigned, including responding to changing priorities and situations
  • Initiative: Proactive approach to ensure cleanliness standards are met and maintained consistently without constant supervision
  • Candidates with a High School Diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply.
  • 1-2 years of prior leadership experience
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
  • May involve reaching above eye level
  • Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Able to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for customers and colleagues
  • Exhibit courteous and professional behavior toward both internal and external customers
  • Clean and maintain fitting rooms and restrooms
  • Collect trash from registers, restrooms, offices, and common areas
  • Clean and restock restrooms as needed
  • Dust the sales floor, including high and low areas
  • Maintain carpets and tile floors
  • Implement shortage prevention initiatives
  • Ensure thorough understanding of all procedures, policies, safety standards, and shortage awareness
  • Promote proper waste management and sustainability practices
  • Conduct weekly checklists as legally required and allocate sufficient time for maintaining centralized waste collection areas
  • Act as the store's waste coordinator, overseeing the management of hazardous waste, universal waste, backhauled waste, and general trash handling
  • Serve as a role model for exemplary service and lead the housekeeping staff to deliver an outstanding shopping experience
  • Coach, motivate, and develop the housekeeping team to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Uphold high customer readiness standards by ensuring clean and tidy restrooms, common areas, and offices
  • Clearly communicate store and company objectives to management and staff
  • Recruit, select, and train talented and results-oriented Housekeeping Colleagues
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment to retain top talent and reduce turnover
  • Address performance issues promptly and conduct timely reviews
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
