About The Position

The Manager Hotel Accounting is responsible for the proper recording and reporting of all non-gaming revenue for the resort. Responsibilities also include reviewing and analyzing financial reports and transactions as appropriate and ensures that operations are in compliance with all internal control procedures.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree in Finance preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Finance and Accounting with two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word
  • The ability to speak, read and write in English

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in hospitality or gaming accounting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish procedures and processes in relation to all aspects of Hotel Accounting and manage the execution of the strategy and direction for Hotel Accounting
  • Ensures revenue is properly posted to correct ledger accounts and reconciles to point of sale and property management systems.
  • Ensures that credit card charges are properly recorded and settled.
  • Reconciles and researches any variances
  • Oversees non-gaming account receivables including direct bills, group sales, banquets and credit card chargebacks
  • Administers tenant leases and reviews tenant revenue reports to ensure proper rent is billed and collected
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of accounting internal control policies and procedures to ensure the internal control environment is maintained for all aspects of Hotel Operations Accounting and provide supporting documentation to internal and external auditors regarding completion of control procedures
  • Continually adjusts processes and procedures in order to work smarter not harder and evaluates applicable software solutions that provide a cost/benefit return
  • Other duties as requested
  • The Accounting Manager performs day to day accounting activities, reporting and issue resolution between business operators
  • Additional responsibilities include preparation of sales and use tax returns and other governmental monthly and quarterly reports and filings.
