About The Position

Responsible for the overall administrative and clinical leadership, direction and management of Pharmacy Services. Manages activities and resources, operations and programs associated with the department: coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental patient care services; develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support patient care activities: recommends and provides justification for a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide appropriate level of service: recommends and provides justification of space and other resources needed; maintains quality control programs, as appropriate; integrates services into the organizations' mission; and participates in the selection of resources for needed services not provided by the department or organization.

Requirements

  • Doctorate: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist certification.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 8 years recent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Drug Utilization Review Procedures and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring.
  • Understanding of The Joint Commission and state and federal laws pertaining to hospitals/home and pharmacies.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues and conflicts effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and supervise staff in infusion therapy practices.
  • Strong leadership skills including team building and coaching/mentoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
