About The Position

The Manager, Health Finance is responsible for the daily financial activities and functions within Health Services department of Carnival Corporation, overseeing all budgeting, forecasting, and daily financial operations. This role leads a multi ‑ level finance team responsible for end ‑ to ‑ end financial governance of medical operations, including invoice management, accounts payable, revenue capture, medical claims cost analysis, and financial compliance. This position drives the development, execution, and oversight of annual and quarterly OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensures an accurate and timely monthly/quarterly close, and produces financial reporting packages, business cases, and KPI ‑ driven analytics to inform strategic decision ‑ making for the Director of Health Administration & Finance and cross ‑ functional health leadership teams. The Manager continuously monitors medical spending patterns, revenue performance, billing trends, service profitability, and cost ‑ containment opportunities to ensure Health Services meets its financial goals while supporting global ‑ wide health operations. Operationally, the role ensures accurate coding, approval, and processing of high ‑ value medical invoices, oversees payment workflows, and partners with shipboard and shoreside teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain audit ‑ ready financial records. The position also collaborates with Case Management to evaluate high ‑ cost medical events, identifies discount and network optimization opportunities, and protects revenue through fee ‑ schedule oversight and revenue ‑ capture processes. The Manager, Health Finance serves as a key liaison to global medical vendors, insurance partners, shipboard medical centers, and corporate finance departments, supporting vendor escalations, network development, and external audit activities. This role requires advanced financial acumen, strong analytical and reporting capabilities, and the ability to independently interpret financial regulations, general ledger principles, and medical billing terminology to safeguard the company’s financial position in the complex healthcare and maritime operational environment. This role will interface with all brands of the Carnival Corporation which comprises nine brands with approximately 95 ships carrying over 12 million guests annually and employing over 100,000 team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Accounting or Finance and(or) Health Administration with Finance.
  • Requires at minimum 5+ years in management and experience with leading a team.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point and Power BI.
  • Outstanding organizational, business writing, financial analysis and planning, relationship, and team management (communication/interpersonal) is required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions.
  • Competency in design, preparation of spreadsheets and other financial reports.
  • Attention to detail essential.
  • Knowledge of general ledger and accounting principles.
  • Ability to use discretion and independent judgement to support the financial goals of the department.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in competitive programming is preferred (Ex: Python).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Health Finance team to ensure all department payments are reviewed, accurately coded, and recorded within contracted term dates.
  • Review and approve higher-value department invoices for medical services, equipment purchases and maintenance, and other services.
  • Monitor the consistent operation of all daily accounts payable related function resulting in a timely and accurate month end close.
  • Analyze cost and pricing to identify additional discount and network opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Crew Health team in the review of high-cost cases.
  • Engage in revenue enhancement initiatives, fee schedule changes and maintain revenue capture processes.
  • Work closely with the company finance and accounts payable department to acquire needed reports, obtain assistance with systems and resolve any payment matters.
  • Support the Director, Health Administration & Finance in preparing financial reports, business cases and other support of key initiatives.
  • Monitor financial spending trends pertaining to operational expenses, revenue tracking, overall P&L, and medical claims cost.
  • Manage and oversee department monthly, quarterly closing activities, ensuring all areas are kept within budget and address any outliers or discrepancies.
  • Develop, present, and oversee financial budgets on an annual and quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with department leads to set budget goals and ensure they’re followed.
  • Assist with developing, submit and monitor CAPEX budgets.
  • Review and analyze monthly revenue reports, focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as billing patterns, service profitability, and additional trends.
  • Assist with vendor inquiries for escalation of missing payments and invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with external partners and suppliers.
  • Support Director, Health Administration & Finance with business networking, building and maintaining a global medical network by regions.
  • To complete ad hoc projects as per Management assignment.
  • Assist with internal and external department audits.
  • Lead the development and periodic review of finance related department policies.
