About The Position

Thanksgiving Point seeks an engaging and knowledgeable Grow Tech Gardens Manager to lead guest experiences and educational programs in our innovative urban farm at Curiosity Farms. The Grow Tech Gardens Manager's primary focus is to educate and inspire guests through hands-on learning about hydroponics, sustainable growing practices, and urban agriculture. The manager will also oversee the operational health of our indoor grow pods, fodder system, and outdoor Learning and Spiral Gardens to support guest programs and supply fresh produce for Thanksgiving Point's kitchens. This position combines science, storytelling, and stewardship - connecting guests to the wonder of growing food through modern agricultural technology.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience or education in a combination of: hydroponic or controlled-environment agriculture, farm management, teaching, guest interpretation, or public programming related to agriculture or sustainability.
Demonstrated passion for guest education and engagement.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Dependable, adaptable, and eager to learn.
Willingness to work on Saturdays.
Pass a background check.
Be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Deliver outstanding guest experiences through daily interpretation, demonstrations, and educational programs focused on hydroponics, sustainability, and urban farming.
Lead the Plant Lab program, a twice-daily interactive experience in the Grow Tech Gardens.
Supervise, train, and inspire staff and volunteers to provide exceptional guest interactions and learning opportunities.
Maintain and operate hydroponic grow pods and the fodder system, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and plant health.
Develop and implement annual crop plans that support both educational goals and produce needs for Thanksgiving Point kitchens.
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Curiosity Farms and serve on the Curiosity Farms Guest Experience Leadership Team.
Coordinate with volunteers, facilities, horticulture, kitchen, livestock, guest experience, and other departments to align educational programming and crop production.
Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, community partners, and internal teams.
Track and report production outputs and educational outcomes for organizational metrics.
Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and continuous program improvement.
