About The Position

The Manager, Government Affairs will work under the direction of KBR's Senior Director of Government Relations to develop and prepare strategic products detailing KBR's legislative priorities and government relations strategy consistent with KBR's established goals and metrics. The role involves producing strategic products and materials for leadership and business units to galvanize KBR efforts and unveil growth opportunities. Additionally, the manager will assist in the management of KBR's Political Action Committee, including administration and compliance requirements, and will attend PAC events as needed. The position requires conducting analyses of legislative initiatives and policy proposals, monitoring congressional activities, and representing KBR at congressional hearings, conferences, meetings, and special events to advance KBR's goals. The manager will also plan and support visits by company leaders to Capitol Hill and by Members/staff to KBR's facilities for educational and constituent support purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 to 5 years professional experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship (active security clearance is a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, integrate, and develop strategic-level products.
  • Self-starter who can manage time and multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
  • Experience working with senior officials in the legislative and executive branches of federal government.
  • Ability to communicate persuasively to shape views of Members of Congress and senior officials.
  • Knowledge of legislative and executive branch processes, U.S. Government budget, authorization and appropriations cycles.

Responsibilities
