About The Position

A day in the life of a Manager, Government Affairs & Policy Stakeholder Management at VF involves building and maintaining positive relationships with key external stakeholders to achieve VF’s policy goals and objectives. This role includes developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies, fostering communication, and ensuring that stakeholder input informs VF policy positions and strategies. The Manager of Policy Stakeholder Partnerships plays a crucial role in identifying, engaging, cultivating, and nurturing strong relationships with policy stakeholder groups that support VF’s business objectives and policy positions, including multilateral institutions, intragovernmental and quasi-government organizations, and trade associations. The position requires leading stakeholder analysis and policy mapping to align advocacy opportunities with stakeholder interests and VF’s business goals. Additionally, the manager represents VF at key events and participates in external task forces and advisory groups to advocate for the organization’s interests.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, public relations, policy analysis, or a related field (5+ years).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport and influence diverse audiences.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is flexible to changing priorities.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a consumer product company is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, cultivate and nurture strong, positive relationships with policy stakeholder groups.
  • Lead stakeholder analysis and policy mapping to pinpoint key stakeholders’ positions and interests.
  • Develop and implement engagement and partnership strategies relating to key policy topics.
  • Participate in external task forces, working groups, committees, and advisory groups.
  • Act as external point-of-contact for VF with identified stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development of stakeholder engagement strategies in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Coordinate outreach and representation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain collateral, one-pagers, resource and reference material.
  • Drive internal alignment through collaboration with internal teams and project managers.
  • Develop and implement methods for measuring effectiveness of engagement.
  • Monitor, track, and report on stakeholder engagement activities and their impact on VF.
