Job Summary The Manager, Global Payroll Operations is accountable for the global coordination and submission of payroll inputs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. The role partners closely with regional payroll teams and People Solutions to operationalize processes, manage risk, support audits, and maintain strong governance of payroll submissions and controls. This position drives automation, continuous improvement, and digital enablement while serving as a knowledge expert and escalation point for global payroll operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Proven years in payroll operations or HR shared services
  • Proven experience managing global payroll input processes and controls.
  • Strong compliance and audit background
  • Good data and reporting skills; experience with dashboards and performance monitoring
  • Experience implementing automation solutions and familiarity with AI-driven tools for process optimisation
  • Strong operational leadership and team management with the ability to coach and build high-performing global teams
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Strong understanding of automation technologies, RPA tools, and emerging AI applications in HR operations
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and influence decisions
  • High integrity, resilience, adaptability, and focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Understand the connection between the team and business drivers to ensure delivery of lifecycle services are fit for purpose

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Submission & Operational Excellence Own global payroll input processes and ensure timely, accurate submission to payroll teams
  • Maintain controls, validations, compliance standards, and quality assurance
  • Drive automation, continuous improvement, and the adoption of robotics and AI to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Responsible for monitoring performance, managing escalations, and ensures delivery against defined processes
  • Ensure proper communication channels are available to update the team on knowledge management updates, policy changes and are equipped to support employee queries
  • Ensures a positive employee experience by proactively communicating payroll updates, managing exceptions with empathy, and guiding teams through system changes and process improvements
  • Compliance, Risk and Audit Support Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls
  • Support internal and external audits with documentation and reporting
  • Monitor payroll accuracy and risk indicators, escalating issues when required
  • Responsible for ensuring related policies and articles are updated by the team and owners for use with the Lifecycle team and Employee self-service
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management Collaborate with regional payroll teams, Finance, and People Solutions to ensure aligned, compliant execution
  • Manage relationships with payroll service providers (where applicable)
  • Resolve escalations and ensure global standards are upheld in partnership with the Vendor Management team
  • Data, Reporting & Digital Enablement Leverage analytics and dashboards to monitor performance and drive insights
  • Prepare presentations and operational reporting for leadership
  • Accelerate digital transformation efforts across lifecycle and compensation processes, embedding automation and intelligent workflows through collaboration and support of the overarching digital and AI transformation strategy
  • Owns all operational metrics, quality, timeliness, accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction and ensures robust governance of payroll submissions and controls
  • People Leadership & Collaboration Responsible for leading the team with accountability and empathy while driving global alignment and operational discipline
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, digital enablement, and customer centric service delivery
  • Build strong partnerships across People Experience, People Solutions, Finance, and other stakeholders
  • Act as a knowledge expert in payroll processes and information to equip the team with best practices and guidance
