Manager, Global Mobility

Airbnb
82d$160,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Global Mobility team makes this possible by enabling the seamless and compliant movement of our employees across borders - whether through immigration, relocation, nomading, or business travel. We are looking for a Manager, Global Mobility to lead a high-impact team through Airbnb’s next phase of transformation into a service-led, shared-services model. This role combines people leadership, program strategy, and operational rigor. You will manage end-to-end mobility programs, ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions, partner with global vendors, and work closely with stakeholders across Legal, Payroll, Total Rewards, FP&A, and Talent. This role requires both strategic vision and the ability to execute with precision in a complex, global environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in global mobility, immigration, or related HR/Total Rewards functions.
  • Strong leadership experience, managing both teams and programs across geographies.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and global immigration, and global mobility practices (relocation, tax, assignments).
  • A strong background in U.S. immigration is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to design scalable programs and service models in a complex, high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing vendors, budgets, and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to advise senior executives and simplify complex issues.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving change.
  • Experience leading shared-service or concierge-style mobility operations.
  • Familiarity with case management tools, mobility technology, and reporting dashboards.
  • Exposure to geopolitical and compliance risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 5 Global Mobility professionals.
  • Define and deliver the team’s service-center operating model, with clear KPIs, SLAs, and employee experience standards.
  • Partner with leadership to align mobility strategy with Airbnb’s global workforce and talent goals.
  • Own mobility policies and frameworks across immigration, relocation, short-term assignments, nomad/remote work, and business travel.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulations (e.g., immigration, tax) while balancing employee experience and business agility.
  • Anticipate geopolitical and regulatory risks (e.g., travel bans, visa restrictions) and lead proactive response planning.
  • Drive process standardization and automation through case management and reporting tools (Workday, MyTrips, Asana, etc.).
  • Oversee SOP inventory, cross-training programs, and readiness for audits or government inspections.
  • Implement financial controls for forecasting, cross-charging, and vendor invoicing to maintain a controlled environment.
  • Manage relationships with external partners.
  • Partner with Legal, Payroll, Equity, Recruiting, and FP&A on policy design, compliance, and cost management.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders on mobility strategy, compliance, and employee escalations.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing team of mobility professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $160,000—$200,000 USD, subject to change.
  • Bonus eligibility.
  • Equity options.
  • Employee Travel Credits.
