Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Manufacturing and Production organization. This position will be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 4 years of related production experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
  • 1 year of Leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work any shift.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security Clearance and Special Program Access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising teams of 10+ employees.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Understanding of SQDEC (safety, quality, employee, delivery, and cost) KPIs.
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes and material flow.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).
  • Experience in New Production.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Avionics Lab team.
  • Assign work tasks, manage schedules, and maintain efficient day-to-day workflow.
  • Facilitate weekly status meetings.
  • Lead a group of 15 hourly electronic technicians.
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train employees; develop personal growth opportunities.
  • Monitor steps of the process; set processing variables; observe control points and equipment.
  • Monitor personnel and resources; study methods; implement cost reductions.
  • Develop reporting procedures and systems; facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; establish priorities; monitor progress.
  • Maintain quality standards by establishing and enforcing organization quality objectives.
  • Educate and direct personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
  • Analyze data; investigate issues; identify solutions; recommend action for personnel problems.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
