About The Position

The Manager, General Engineering at Collins Aerospace is responsible for coordinating engineering activities related to the design, fabrication, modification, and testing of aerospace products. This role involves overseeing the cost, schedule, and technical performance of significant company programs, managing responsibilities across multiple engineering disciplines, and innovating technologies to meet specifications and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field with 8 years of progressive experience in general stress analysis of aircraft structure components.
  • Alternatively, a master's degree or equivalent in the same fields with 5 years of experience in general stress analysis of aircraft structure components.
  • 5 years of experience with static and fatigue analysis of aircraft nacelle structures.
  • 5 years of experience with metallic and composite aircraft nacelle structural parts.
  • 5 years of experience with structural repairs of nacelle structures.
  • 5 years of experience with mechanical/aerospace FEA tools including Patran and Nastran.
  • 1 year of experience in leading a technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of engineering or technical personnel involved in designing, fabricating, modifying or testing of products.
  • Monitor the cost, schedule and technical performance of sizable company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Manage major responsibilities across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Set objectives and execute approach for achievement of operational results.
  • Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements and customer guarantees.
