As a member of our compliance team, this position will oversee the effective operation of a GXO managed FTZ, ensuring compliance with all applicable CBP & Department of Commerce regulations and requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in managing or administering a Foreign Trade Zone
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Knowledgeable of Customs entry, international transportation of goods, import/export processes, expertise in FTZ regulations and CBP regulations
  • Experience with previous FTZ Software preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical ability, ability to multi-task, customer service skills, attention to detail, time management, team building skills, human relations, professional written and oral communications skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access & Outlook) required

Nice To Haves

  • Broker License preferred
  • Experience with previous FTZ Software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide compliant management of GXO Foreign Trade Zone for day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure team processing inbound/outbound transactions for the FTZ do so compliantly through regular meetings, audit of transactions, and engagement in the process.
  • Manage communication with CBP for FTZ related matters.
  • Review daily inventory reconciliation processes with warehouse management system against FTZ system and analyse, research and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Analyse commercial documentation against system receipts for valuation, unit discrepancies and resolve any issues.
  • Manage accurate EEI filings on behalf of the customer.
  • Identify and resolve inventory issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with the customer any issues or discrepancies with inventory management or inaccurate data.
  • Perform internal audits of zone operations (including EEI filings) and report results in accordance with internal audit programs.
  • Manage relationship with FTZ software provider and provide expertise for any software related projects impacting zone.
  • Prepare all required annual FTZ reports and declarations to CBP and/or grantor,
  • Manage and update all FTZ operations manuals and operations SOPs.
  • Lead change management activities related to FTZ system upgrades or expansions, ensuring business continuity and compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training for internal teams and new hires on FTZ procedures and export compliance.
  • Work effectively with other departments affected by zone operations, such as Receiving, Operations, Shipping, Transportation and Finance.
  • Review/resolve customer inquiries as it relates to the FTZ and new initiatives by involving appropriate stakeholders.
