About The Position

We grow the world’s BEST Strawberries & that wouldn’t be possible without our Operations Team! We are seeking a Manager, Frozens Food Production to own the end-to-end processing of our fresh fruit into a frozen product for our vertical farming facility. This leader is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality frozen production on time and at cost, while minimizing food waste and maximizing revenue potential for the organization. The Manager will take full ownership of the day to day operation, including but not limited to process development, people management, food safety, inventory mgmt, equipment sanitation, etc.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in business or other relevant field is a plus!
  • 3+ years of experience working in a production, warehouse or similar environment (food manufacturing is a plus!).
  • 2+ years of experience managing teams.
  • Solid computer literacy and familiarity with technology such as Google suite, Slack, Asana etc.
  • Comfortable in cold storage areas for extended periods (28F - 60F)
  • Shift: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with occasional off-hours availability required for time-sensitive situations and operational needs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb a ladder, crouch, or kneel
  • Ability to reach and stretch
  • Hand dexterity
  • Comfortable in an active non sedentary role for lengths of up to 5 to 6 hours at a time
  • MUST NOT be allergic to bees
  • There may be times where you may have to respond to emergencies or issues off hours that impact the facility or your team.

Nice To Haves

  • Working with automation, robotics or other large scale equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the frozen operation, partnering with Senior Leadership to guide overall strategy, but execution and output will be fully owned, managed, and executed by the Frozen Manager.
  • Building and developing a high-performing team, ensuring each team member is executing to standards.
  • Identify and own process improvements within your department to increase throughput & reduce waste across each step of the process.
  • Monitor, report on, and drive KPIs related to productivity, quality, inventory control, and food safety.
  • Ensure all frozen products meet food safety/quality standards prior to processing (i.e. no mold or critical defect).
  • Ensure daily compliance with all regulatory and internal food safety standards.
  • Drive preventative maintenance planning and equipment readiness, ensuring proper handling and care for equipment to maximize uptime.
  • Deliver accurate product tracking and inventory management, create and conduct recurring audits to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Analyze real time production data to guide staffing and make informed operational decisions to maximize output.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Production and Go-to-Market teams to understand supply levels and labor plans successfully.
  • Serve as a people manager directing work, providing feedback, evaluating work, assigning tasks, goal setting, daily coaching, issue resolution, and ensuring consistent staffing levels.
