We are in search for a Freight and Logistics Manager, based at our Morrisville, NC HQ/Facility. This role is on-site 5 days per week at our offices near I-40/RDU International. Role Purpose The Freight and Logistics Manager is the enterprise owner of all freight and logistics strategies, cost, performance, and governance. Reporting to the Executive VP of Procurement, this on-site role is accountable for developing, tracking, and reporting logistics KPIs; identifying and executing cost-savings initiatives; managing carrier relationships; and serving as the primary escalation point for freight and logistics issues across the organization. The role partners cross-functionally to ensure freight decisions support operational efficiency, customer service, and financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • 5 -10 years of progressive experience in freight and logistics management, including senior leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of multi-modal transportation (parcel, LTL, TL, intermodal, ocean, air), carrier contracting, and freight cost drivers.
  • Working knowledge and practical experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including day-to-day use, optimization, configuration oversight, and performance reporting
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable freight cost savings through network design, mode optimization, carrier strategy, and rate negotiations.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building, managing, and presenting KPI dashboards and executive-level reporting.
  • Experience leading parcel carrier negotiations (UPS, FedEx, USPS, regional carriers), including RFPs, contract negotiations, accessorial management, and QBRs.
  • Excellent executive communication, financial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an on-site, fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own all enterprise freight and logistics spend across modes (parcel, LTL, accessorial, etc.).
  • Develop and execute freight strategies aligned to service, cost, and growth objectives.
  • Identify, quantify, and deliver measurable cost-savings initiatives, track realization vs. plan.
  • Lead carrier sourcing events (RFPs), negotiations, and contract management.
  • Define, develop, and maintain a comprehensive logistics KPI framework (cost, service, productivity, claims, compliance).
  • Establish measurable goals and targets, track performance against benchmarks.
  • Deliver regular reporting to executive leadership with clear insights, trends, and actions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems and stakeholders.
  • Own strategic carrier relationships and performance management.
  • Execute and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with clear agendas, scorecards, & action plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement with carriers through structured follow-up and accountability.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for carrier performance, service failures, and systemic issues.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and IT to align freight decisions.
  • Ensure freight policies and processes support customer commitments and operational realities.
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt standard practices, cost discipline, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Establish freight policies, controls, and approval workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Oversee claims management, accessorial controls, and audit processes.
