About The Position

Froedtert South Food Service Manager Job summary: This key leadership position is directly responsible for the management of the Froedtert South Food Service Department. The Food Service Manager ensures patient and customer satisfaction with efficient cost-effective management to meet and exceed expectations. The Manager is responsible for all food service related activities, including patient dining, cafeteria and catering operations, quality improvement, sanitation and infection control. The Manager provides strong leadership to a team whose focus is exceptional customer service, quality products and a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Food Service Management preferred or related field; or current certificate as Dietary Manager plus 5 years of directly related experience preferred.
  • Serve Safe Certification required within one year of hire.
  • Certified Dietary Manager required within one year of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends
  • Strong leadership, management and coaching skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills
  • Proficient computer skills to include various computer program, e-mail, Microsoft Office programs and the internet.

Responsibilities

  • Directs daily food service operations in order to provide quality products and services while maintaining safe and efficient operations.
  • Oversees department purchasing, inventory, receiving, and storage of food service products
  • Provides team leadership by ensuring cohesiveness in the Department and with the food service team
  • Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, and motivate
  • Supervises day to day work activities, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards
  • Provides directions to employees and independently determines approaches to solutions
  • Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives
  • Participates in the selection, orientation and training and development of employees, including initiating human resource actions such as the hiring and termination of employees
  • Develops and administer annual performance appraisals for employees
  • Maintains and implements sanitary and food safety conditions and training to adhere to statutory regulations including county, state, federal and Joint Commission standards
  • Accountable for maintaining the highest level of product and service quality for inpatient dining, cafeteria and catering.
  • Develops and submits reports to the Director of Food Service quarterly
  • Establishes a safe work environment for employees by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety related training and maintaining on going communications with employees.
  • Maintains kitchen, cafeteria, and storage facilities to meet/exceed sanitary conditions
  • Monitors internal performance improvement and food safety audit process including HACCP record keeping
  • Prepares and updates statistical report for the Director of Food Service to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and Froedtert South policies and procedures
  • Oversees expenditures and controls department financials.
  • Prepares annual capital expense and operating budgets and presents to the Director of Food Service
  • Works with the director of Food Service to create an annual business plan and sets and implements short and long term goals that align with the scope of services, mission and values of Froedtert South
  • Reviews financial statements to ensure performance is in accordance with budget.
  • Provides monthly reports to Director of Food Service
  • Other related duties as assigned.
