About The Position

Major Responsibility: Responsible for the overall performance of the in-fleeting and de-fleeting functions to maximize fleet utilization and profitability for the City/District. Duties include, but are not limited to: Develops, implements and communicates operating plans for the in-fleet process of preparing vehicles to be ready for rent to business and company guidelines, including, but not limited to, proper vehicle registration and licensing, proper vehicle inspections are completed and installation of telematics to minimize vehicle preparation time. Develops, implements and communicates operating plans for the de-fleeting process of deleting vehicles from the fleet to be ready for turnback to the OEM, retail car sales, auction or other alternative sales channels. Manages performance of team members/employees against business plan by setting, communicating, monitoring and updating goals as needed for key performance indicators on a regular and consistent basis for all in-fleet and de-fleet processes, including, but not limited to, time to in-fleet, cost per deletion, days to deletion and vendor quality average grade. Assesses deletions area on a daily basis to prioritize vehicles for in-fleeting and/or de-fleeting based on communicated needs of the business; communicates work to appropriate team members/employees. Ensures all repair orders are completed and processed in accordance with established guidelines. Forecasts, budgets and manages key financial drivers including, but not limited to, S&W per day and cost per deletion. Selects, manages and maintains appropriate vendor relationships, including, but not limited to, ensuring established service levels and quality standards are met and that all vendor management policies and procedures are followed. Ensures proper use of purchase orders, receipt of services and/goods, timely submission of invoices for approval and the timely payment of invoices. Maintain up to date files on vendor insurance policies. Partners with Fleet Distribution to minimize days to auction or alternative sites. Manages all areas of the employee lifecycle including hiring, on-onboarding, training, recognition and performance management of both managers and employees to enable a high performance culture supervises, develops, motivates, recognizes and evaluates the performance of manager and employee staff to enable a high performing culture. Manages all facets of employee relations, including, but not limited to, implementing HR policies and practices in a consistent and fair manner, in accordance with Company policies and partnering with Human Resources Business Partners where appropriate. Provides a safe work environment by ensuring all safety policies and practices are followed and maintained. May be required to perform other duties as assigned

  • Minimum of 2 years management experience of employees in related field (rental car, automotive shop or service oriented field)

  • Ability to work flexible schedules in a fast-paced environment that may include early morning, nights, or weekends, as determined by business needs
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and oversee multiple work areas
  • This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
