About The Position

The Manager, Fleet Reliability Engineering provides leadership, direction, and oversight for Frontier’s Fleet Reliability and Configuration Engineering functions. This position defines and manages objectives, policies, processes, and standards related to aircraft reliability, configuration accuracy, technical data integrity, and engineering documentation. The role ensures full compliance with FAA regulations and supports overall fleet performance through data‑driven analysis, engineering oversight, and cross‑departmental coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of associates degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Technology or a related field; combination of relevant education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a 121 airline environment Technical Services / Engineering department or comparable maintenance experience.
  • Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating may be accepted in lieu of degree, with equivalent experience
  • Detailed knowledge of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required by management for project completion and to support operations

Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and coordinate all fleet reliability initiatives, including analysis of reliability trends, root‑cause identification, and development of corrective actions to improve aircraft availability and reduce out‑of‑service events.
  • Lead reliability improvement projects by generating business cases, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Oversee the preparation, presentation, and maintenance of recurring reliability reporting, including monthly fleet reliability summaries, initiative progress updates, and assessments of program effectiveness.
  • Direct and oversee engineering research and analysis of new or updated components using IPCs, ADs, SBs, technical drawings, and regulatory data to maintain the accuracy of FMIS, IPC Supplements, and engineering documentation.
  • Manage configuration accuracy across the fleet by updating FMIS configuration records, ensuring correct effectivity/interchangeability, editing entries to resolve discrepancies, and facilitating creation of engineering controls such as FMIS ECs, SB/VSB tracking items, and PCRs.
  • Review, update, and approve engineering documents—including EAs, EOs, FCDs, Engineering Specifications, Engineering Drawings, and PCRs—to support fleet updates and maintain both configuration control and operational reliability.
  • Ensure regulatory and technical compliance by interpreting and reviewing 14 CFR requirements, ADs, SBs, FCDs, engineering documents, and vendor technical materials to validate accuracy and substantiation.
  • Oversee periodic audits of configuration and supplemental data to verify consistency with actual fleet status and ensure compliance with engineering changes across all disciplines.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Planning, Materials, Engineering, OEMs, vendors, and lessors to maintain alignment between the Maintenance Program and evolving aircraft, assembly, and component modification statuses.
  • Provide engineering and configuration support for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and assist maintenance teams with retrieval, interpretation, and analysis of aircraft reliability and configuration information.
  • Manage vendor technical and contractual obligations by ensuring compliance with engineering and regulatory requirements, verifying technical documentation quality, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and authorization of aircraft parts, including configuration lineage and effectivity validation.
  • Participate in and lead efforts to improve Engineering department processes, documentation quality, data accuracy, and overall efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Modify, review, and approve Frontier Engineering Component Configuration documentation
  • Modify ,review and approve Component Configuration settings in FMIS
  • Generate, review, and approve Publication Change Requests (PCRs) to modify maintenance documentation
  • Create, modify, review and approve SB and VSB tracking items in FMIS
  • Oversee the review and analysis of RIL and Parts Pool Configuration Change Requests
  • Generate requisitions in FMIS and engineering documentation for acquisition of required items related to regulatory and company requirements
  • Serves as a delegate for Airframe and Powerplant Manager approvals.
