SUMMARY: The Fleet Maintenance Manager coordinates and manages operations and maintenance activities of fleet/automotive equipment department and repair facilities for George’s. The position coordinates inspection of and evaluates vehicle and equipment and schedules needed repair or service work. The Fleet Maintenance Manager is also responsible for acquiring state-required certificates of title and schedules registrations and state inspections.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field AND 5+ years of heavy duty maintenance experience
- Strong computer skills, which includes Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Manage mechanics and personnel in the shop.
- Lead safety initiatives including training.
- Engage with business leaders to make sure expectations are met.
- Responsible for P&L with adherence to budget for their shop.
- Determine whether making repairs internally or external.
- Manage the preventative maintenance program.
- Approve work orders and check on quality of repair work.
- Order major components including tires, fluids, fuel, etc.
- Relationship builder for parts vendors and outside repair shops
- Assist with capital planning and obtaining quotes for AFE’s.
- Responsible for training programs to grow their team.
- Provide input for the annual shop operating plan.
