The Opportunity Our location in Lake Bluff, Illinois, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager to support our Business & Technology Services, office of the CIO. The Manager provides FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) support to the Corporate Business & Technology Services (BTS) organization. Oversees financial processes and activities and provides analytics to support strategic business decisions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least 8 years of experience in financial planning, analysis and accounting
  • Supervisory / management experience
  • Proficient with financial modeling, systems, tools including Excel, Hyperion Essbase and SAP.
  • Strong interpersonal and executive communication skills, ability to interact with senior leadership
  • Ability to synthesize complex, technical issues and summarize with relevancy and clarity.
  • Ability to manage many competing priorities and execute in a pressurized environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a strategic finance partner to several business units within Corporate BTS organization, including Infrastructure and Data, AI and Automation, influencing decision-making and driving financial outcomes.
  • Oversees monthly close activities in partnership with Abbott Shared Services, delivering clear, insightful financial reporting and commentary.
  • Ensures compliance and champions strong internal controls and governance.
  • Develops forecasts, analytics and review materials for presentation to Chief Information Officer (CIO).
  • Proactively identifies and manages risks and opportunities using external and internal data signals and develops contingency plans.
  • Partners with business leaders to identify and deliver robust cost reduction and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Partners with the business to define, review and analyze the projects; leads financial review of Requests for Capital Expenditure (RCEs).
  • Provides analytical support for contracts negotiations.
  • Owns Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Capital forecasting and reporting for BTS, continuously enhancing cash flow models to improve accuracy and visibility.
  • Drives continuous improvement, simplification and automations of financial processes.
  • Leads and develops a team of three to four financial analysts / supervisor, attracting top talent and fostering a high-performance, collaborative team environment through coaching, mentoring and a strong focus on continuous learning.
