About The Position

Performs as a vital organizational asset in the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group with advanced capabilities related to financial analysis in support of our timberlands, wood products and real estate operating divisions. Responsible for conducting financial analysis of operating results, capital projects, divisional budgets, business development opportunities and other related tasks aimed at determining potential project savings, returns and/or growth. Must be able to work in a high-paced environment under tight deadlines and several internal clients. The salary range for this position is $99,825 - $166,375.00. The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is bonus eligible with a target value of 15% of salary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, forestry or a related field (MBA or related advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum five (5) to nine (9) years’ experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
  • Capable of disseminating complex financial information
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and intermediate proficiency with relational databases or similar software (experience with SQL or similar databases a plus)
  • Generally office environment
  • Up to 25% travel required
  • Occasional exposure to operating environments and seasonal weather conditions

  • Experience in manufacturing operations and/or the wood products industry a plus

Responsibilities

  • Budgeting and Operational Forecasting: Responsible for the preparation of periodic operating and financial results and variance explanations to division and executive management.
  • Responsible for short-term and long-term divisional forecasts.
  • Coordinate and consolidate the annual division operating and capital budgets.
  • Perform as an effective budgeting liaison between wood products, resources and corporate divisions.
  • Capital Project Analysis: Lead the Capital Planning process as a resource for determination of potential project savings, returns, etc.
  • Perform capital project performance review.
  • Utilize and/or develop financial forecast models (i.e., NPV, DCF, RONA, etc.) to assist with capital decision making and other strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Analysis: Serve as the financial advisor to operating personnel regarding operational decisions including potential areas of cost savings.
  • Stay abreast of changes in financial analysis techniques and activity-based costing methods.
  • Maintain an awareness of economics and market trends in our industries.
  • Conduct financial analysis of developing business opportunities with the goal for potential areas of growth.
