About The Position

The Manager, Finance plays a critical role in driving financial planning and analysis by preparing detailed financial models, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to monitor business performance, identify risks, and enhance financial controls and reporting transparency. The role involves presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership, supporting budgeting processes, and fostering continuous improvement. Additionally, the Manager leads and develops associates while ensuring compliance with company policies and promoting a culture of accountability and integrity. About the team: The Sam’s Club Operations Finance team transforms finance strategy into measurable value by enhancing profitability, reducing risk, and improving efficiency. The team translates fiscal year goals into actionable plans through rigorous analysis and close collaboration with business owners and other finance partners. Central to transformation initiatives, the team develops and scales programs by defining scope, quantifying value, and building business cases. Combining strategic rigor with hands-on execution, the team embeds analytics into regular workflows, enabling leaders to make informed decisions. What you'll do: This role supports Sam's Transformation and Asset Protection Organizations and you will: Provide strategic input to financial planning through analysis, modeling, and recommending expense targets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop forecasts, analyze business performance and communicate significant variances. Develop financial models and presentations to support business decisions and communicate forecasts to senior management. Support budgeting processes by identifying gaps between business goals and corporate objectives. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to align plans and initiatives with business needs. Own sizing of transformation initiatives so leadership could prioritize initiatives Ensure compliance with company policies, ethics, and standards while promoting continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, planning, and forecasting to support strategic business decisions.
  • Strong expertise in variance analysis and month-end closing processes with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to develop and present financial models and business cases to senior management.
  • Skilled in managing complex control structures and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial standards.
  • Proficient in data analysis and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, BitQuery and Tableau.
  • Proficient in AI tools including ChatGPT and VS Code
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing associates while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area OR 4 years’ experience i n accounting, finance, or related area.
