About The Position

The Manager of Finance, Regulatory Reporting is responsible for overseeing the preparation, consolidation, review, and filing of all quarterly and annual regulatory financial reports in compliance with statutory and state requirements. This role provides management oversight of reporting activities across functional areas, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all submissions. The Manager serves as a key liaison with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies, maintains strong governance over reporting controls and processes, and ensures compliance with evolving regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
  • Eight years of accounting/finance experience including three years of supervisory/management experience
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to diverse audiences
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of assigned business area (e.g. financial reporting- preferably regulatory basis but not required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities of assigned team including supervisors and/or individual contributors.
  • Adapt department plans to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Operates mostly within their own function, but participates in cross-functional initiatives.
  • Understand and communicate directives from senior management.
  • Hold one-on-one meetings with employees on performance and career development.
  • Perform consolidating reporting for quarterly and annual NAIC and state reporting
  • Review, design and implement process and control improvements in area of expertise.
  • Influence and lead a team in a way which aligns and promotes their given department’s strategy and values.
