About The Position

The Manager Field Ops is responsible for managing all operational functions at a branch. This includes direct oversight of dispatcher/routers, service technicians, pick up & delivery drivers, yard personnel, fence crew(s), and shop. The role involves reviewing all paperwork for completion and accuracy, monitoring service levels and deliveries, and recommending measures to improve operational practices and customer care. The Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure effective communication and resolve customer service issues, maintain proper staffing levels, analyze operational activities, and administer the company's safety program. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for employee development and creating a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 Year / Associates Degree from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training
  • Minimum 5 years of proven leadership experience leading a diverse team

Responsibilities

  • Direct oversight of dispatcher/routers, service technicians, pick up & delivery drivers, yard personnel, fence crew(s), and shop
  • Review of all paperwork including manifests, routing tickets, DVIRs, etc. for completion and accuracy
  • Monitor all service levels and deliveries to ensure the best efficiencies
  • Recommend measures to improve operational practices and quality of customer care
  • Work directly with other departments to ensure excellent communication within the region
  • Resolve customer service & delivery issues
  • Coordinate asset transfers with Operations Managers at other branches
  • Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs
  • Analyze and report on operational activities, i.e., service levels, routing efficiency, labor & overtime, and fuel
  • Develop and implement standard practices and efficiency recommendations with the Regional Vice President
  • Responsible for fleet DOT administration including log books & record maintenance
  • Review and approve e-time punches prior to payroll processing
  • Administer the company's safety program at the branch
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews and employee development
  • Create and maintain a positive, safe, and effective work environment
  • Operate a variety of company vehicles
  • Pull trailers with company vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned
