The Sr. Manager, Field Engineering at Databricks will lead a team of Solutions Architects focused on the Retail segment. This role involves promoting a dynamic team that specializes in enterprise software, big data, analytics, data engineering, data science, data warehousing, and generative AI. The manager will partner with Sales to drive revenue and ensure customer success, while maintaining an efficient Field Engineering team to support Databricks' growth in the market.

Lead and manage a team of Solutions Architects for the Retail segment.
Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of technical professionals.
Partner with Sales and other technical segments to increase revenue.
Establish and maintain relationships across the business to ensure customer and team success.
Ensure the team stays ahead of the technical curve and continuously learns about the technology stack.
Guide the team in technical qualification, validations, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
Foster partnerships with systems integrators and independent software vendors to maximize client success.
Create a positive team morale and foster collaboration with Sales and other internal teams.

10+ years of experience in the data space with a technical product (e.g., data warehousing, big data, machine learning, generative AI).
Proven experience in building and leading technical pre-sales or post-sales teams.
Strong understanding of consumption-driven business models and strategies for long-term growth.
Experience in hiring and developing high-caliber candidates.
Ability to influence and guide complex architectural decisions.
Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.

Experience with generative AI technologies.
Familiarity with enterprise software solutions.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
