About The Position

The Manager, Facilities Maintenance & EHS coordinates and directs the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors while taking an active role in the health and safety of everyone working at the Facility.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figure and amount such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university business management or Occupational Safety and Health; or a minimum four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Take action on all facility-related emergencies to ensure a safe environment and minimize unnecessary damage or cost to the company.
  • Perform as the liaison to the Building Manager (Landlord) and their appointed contractors to maintain the facility and resolve building related issues.
  • Inspects plant and evaluates use of space and facilities.
  • Analyze all facility related items: HVAC systems, electrical, elevators, computer network wiring, lighting, building appearance, landscaping and other factors.
  • Analyze all Manufacturing related items:  air compressors, wash equipment, thermal chambers and other systems supported by the facility.
  • Plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Perform audits to support facility planning.
  • Develop long range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements and documentation for facility.
  • Formulates and coordinates program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents.
  • Act as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
  • Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Review real estate contracts for compliance with government specifications and suitability for occupancy.
  • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
  • Oversee and directs maintenance personnel and contractors at the Facility engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensures proper storage of all hazardous material consistent with all local, OSHA and or EPA Regulations.
  • Coordinate safe movement of hazardous materials within the facility campus.
  • Work closely with the Safety Coordinator on the controls of all chemicals at the Facility to bed consistent with CEFD safety policies and procedures.
  • Serve as liaison with insurance carriers for all issues related to employee or facility safety.
  • Promote activities which this will lower premiums and workers’ compensation payments
  • Review effectiveness of plant evacuation procedures and coordinates with BCP (Business Continuity Plan) manager(s) to ensure an effective system.
  • Determine minimum requirements for personal protective equipment.
  • Hold Contractors accountable to adhere to safety requirement while on premises and verify quality of work performed
  • Ensures proper storage of all hazardous material consistent with all local, OSHA and or EPA Regulations.
  • Coordinate safe movement of hazardous materials within the facility campus.
  • Work closely with the Safety Coordinator on the controls of all chemicals at the Facility to bed consistent with CEFD safety policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate actions by the Company to support Sustainability initiatives-   Completing and submitting reports for local governments such as ADEQ on yearly environmental waste. Coordinate companywide initiatives, policies and procedures for recycling/waste.
