Work Shift: Varies (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Union Position: No Department Details Summary Manages all aspects of operation and maintenance of multiple and/or large physical facilities in healthcare environment. Provides support to operations management for maintenance, repair and improvement of physical systems and equipment, vendor relations, and cost control. Maintains various facility systems such as water, utilities, generators, lighting, security, pest control, etc. The Manager of Facilities evaluates present and future needs for real estate, owned or leased, for healthcare facility. Provides work direction and supervision to facilities staff, coordinates operations, maintenance, repairs and equipment installations in accordance with the service goals and objectives. Responsible for day-to-day management of all facilities departments, to include: oversight of installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; oversight of campus grounds and outside maintenance duties; oversight of general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, heating ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and bed repair and maintenance. Ensures tasks are carried out in a safe, professional manner employing all current acceptable practices. Assists with the development and monitoring of appropriate indicators for quality and continuous improvement. Assists with the management of department operations including human resources, budget and finance, short and long range planning, legal and regulatory compliance. Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, discipline of employees and any other personnel issues that arise. Approves time off requests, and signs off on employee timecards. Completes performance appraisals. Knowledge of computer programs, and the operating principles of a wide range of non-medical equipment is required. Able to trouble shoot equipment problems. Possess values that are compatible with the organization. Change management skills desired. Understands a systems approach to problem solving and process improvement involving staff. Familiar with the Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards. Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances, as well as Sanford Health policies and procedures.
